I am Sharmla Karri, I belong to the city of Visakhapatnam. Figurative art always captivated me…In my paintings, I tend to explore the nuances of relationships of humans with their environment…I dabble with all kinds of mediums, oils being my most favorite, especially experimenting with different textures….My palette is always full of vivid and vibrant colors …and colors do play an important role in interpreting or capturing transient moods or expressions of the subjects/people that I paint…it might not be something that is beautiful or perfect but just an emotion that gets expressed onto the canvas! A little bit of my art journey….I have participated in a dozen or so group exhibitions all over India as well as internationally. Two of my paintings have been shortlisted for the grand finalists in Art Revolution Taipei, Taiwan and have been exhibited for two consecutive years 2019 and 2020. One of my paintings is part of the Bombay Art Society annual exhibition at Jehangir Art gallery in February 2020. Also 2 solo exhibitions….”Myriad Moods” and “Myriad Moods 0.2”, in Visakhapatnam.
